NRS review: What are the main impacts?

Ordinance No. 6735, of March 10, 2020, approved the new wording of Regulatory Standard No. 09 - Evaluation and Control of Occupational Exposures to Physical, Chemical and Biological Agents. Art. 2 of this ordinance determines that Regulatory Standard No. 09 be interpreted with the classification of General NR, that is, NR 9 will then serve to establish the requirements for the evaluation of occupational exposures to physical, chemical and biological agents when identified in the Management Program of Risks - PGR, and no longer in the Environmental Risk Prevention Program - PPRA, which will no longer exist.

Ordinance No. 6,730, of March 9, 2020, approved the new wording of Regulatory Standard No. 01 - General Provisions and Occupational Risk Management, that is, the new NR 1 will establish that companies must implement, by establishment, the Occupational Risk Management - GRO in its activities. This occupational risk management should constitute a Risk Management Program - PGR, which will replace the current PPRA.

Ordinance No. 6,734, of March 9, 2020, approved the new wording of Regulatory Standard No. 07 - Occupational Health Medical Control Program - PCMSO, that is, the new NR 7 will establish guidelines and requirements for the development of the Occupational Health Medical Control Program - PCMSO in companies, with the aim of protecting and preserving the health of their employees in relation to occupational risks, according to the risk assessment of the Risk Management Program - PGR, and no longer according to the assessment of risks of the PPRA.

These ordinances will come into force 1 (one) year after the date of their publication.
